About Me
My name is Simran Lamba, and I am a fourth year undergraduate student at the University of Florida. I'm currently completing my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience. I am also an Anthropology minor and on the pre-med track. In the future I hope to pursue graduate school and potentially MD/PhD programs in order to further my work in both clinical research and patient care.
I’ve been an undergraduate research assistant in an addictions research lab for over 2 years now, and I also recently completed a summer internship at the UF Scripps Research Institute where I worked in a behavioral neuroscience lab. I am also a member of the 2024 Cohort of the University Scholar's Program as an AI Scholar.
I enjoy doing research and working with marginalized communities, and I particularly am interested in psychiatry and neuroscience research. Currently, I am working in a lab focused on substance use disorder (SUD) treatments, and over the summer I looked at using AI and neuroimaging techniques to help model the process of decision-making. I am also interested in using AI to help develop models that can be applied in clinical settings to help develop more individualized and effective treatment for patients. In the future I want to continue pursuing research and working directly with patients, and I hope to bridge the intersection between novel research and clinical practice.
