Research

My interests lie in clinical research in the fields of psychiatry and neuroscience to develop novel and improved treatment approaches. My focus is currently on addictions research and applications of AI to this field, as well as substance use disorder (SUD) among healthcare professionals. With the UF Florida Recovery Center Research Lab (FRC), I have been able to explore these topics and interact directly with patients to collect biopsychosocial data for use in future projects. Working with a particularly vulnerable patient population has informed me of how research can be used to inform treatment, and I wish to continue conducting research that furthers the development of novel tools that will advance our current knowledge of addiction, improve recovery outcomes, and achieve a more individualized framework for patient treatment.

I have also worked with the Hattori Lab at UF Scripps, which focuses on applying machine learning and neuroscientific techniques to understand how learning occurs in both healthy and diseased states, and how this can contribute to treatments for cognitive and learning disorders. In the future I wish to pursue a career as a clinician-scientist, and I am eager to continue contributing to research that helps advocate for the underrepresented and stigmatized members in our society
